The Upstairs Schoolroom

The second floor of the museum has been arranged to reflect what a classroom may have looked like during the era of the Chattooga Academy. Founded in 1836, the academy educated generations of LaFayette students until the early 1920s, when a new modern high school was constructed. This space offers a glimpse into the educational experience of the town's earliest students.
