Welcome to The Museum of LaFayette

The Museum of LaFayette is currently in a brief transition period between exhibits. While there are no exhibits currently on display, visitors can still enjoy our historic school room and collection of Native American artifacts.

Our summer exhibit, “We Would Meet Together”: The Oothcaloga Moravian Mission, was a wonderful success. We extend a special thank you to Matthew Grambling, Director of the Bandy Heritage Center, for allowing us to share this special exhibit with our community.

Stay tuned for updates as we prepare to welcome you to our next exhibit, exploring the history and legacy of the Cherokee in our region.

Explore the rich history of LaFayette, Georgia, from its earliest prehistoric Native American inhabitants and the era of the Cherokee Nation to the Civil War and the generations that followed. Through thoughtfully curated, rotating exhibits, the Museum of LaFayette offers visitors a glimpse into the people, events, and stories that have shaped our community from the past to the present.
